Email: February 13, 2019 - Sprained ankle pt. 3, being sick and a lot of learning
Well hello everyone. No voice recording this week because I didn't really feel like it this time around. Also, HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!!! 馃帀馃帄馃帀馃帄馃帀
But let me tell you all this week has been an amazing week. First Heavenly Father had some stuff He needed me to learn. As you can tell by the title, He kind of put a smack down on me. I'm sure He didn't cause it but He allowed to happen so there is that.
So First, I sprained my ankle for the third time on Monday. The one time I forget to wear my ankle brace and bam it happens. Which means I spent all of Tuesday in our apartment beginning recovery on my ankle again. Thankfully this time it wasn't nearly as bad as the first two because by the end of Tuesday it was feeling a lot better.
On Wednesday Morning however I started to feel a little sick, but I wasn't going to let that stop me especially since all we did on Wednesday was service at Operation Gratitude and doing the Book of Mormon experiment on CSUN.
Thursday the sickness remained. We spent the day weekly planning and playing pool with our new friend Roy. He is a lot better than us since he has played since he was 14 and he is currently in his 60s, but he was a really nice guy. We sat down and ate some pizza with him and got to know him better.
Friday, we had exchanges. I stayed in Northridge and went with my district leader Elder Dehlin. It was honestly one of the best, if not the best, exchange I have been on. It just learned a lot of about my area and myself.
Saturday was just regular missionary work.
Sunday the Northridge ward members showed just how much they love the missionaries because I got a bunch of medicine and food from them. It was awesome and it led to me finally getting over the annoying cold I had.
Monday felt weird doing missionary work on it once again, but we were able to pick up a new person to teach so it was worth it.
Tuesday, we did service all day (literally all day except for our study and meal times)
And now we are here on a Wednesday P-day. Honestly as the mission continues to move on, I continue to learn. I learned a lot this week. I'll spare the details, but God is so good. All it takes for us is to just humble ourselves and truly listen to him. He has a lot to say, but more importantly He has a lot for us to do. I'm always uplifted by the example of President Monson. Literally every single moment of his life he was listening for promptings and acting on them. He was always on the Lord's errand and we can as well if we take the time to seek the spirit and the will of our Father. Rather than having the spirit seek us out, we have to put in effort on our part if we want to receive the blessings He has in store for us.
As always, I love you all and I am encouraged by your examples and I ask that you continue to press forward in the work of the Lord. I'll talk you all again in 5 days
