Email: June 4, 2018 - What even happened?
Hello everyone!
Looking back honestly not a whole lot has happened this week. Or at least that I can remember
This week consisted of a lot of Elder Burnett and I driving other missionaries around so we kind of blew through our miles for the month but it’s okay we did it to hasten the work.
I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with Elder Ortiz and Elder Swallberg. So quick note, I think I mentioned this last week, but I'll say it again. Elder Swallberg is the Nicaragua Mission. He was part of the missionaries that go pulled out from all the riots and such against the government. He told us some stories and it's pretty crazy what is going on there.
Anyway, exchanges were a lot of fun and I got to learn a bit more Spanish since it is a Spanish area. The day consisted of a lot of jokes and a lot of hard work. I even got the duo-lingo app to practice my Spanish on the side.
Then on Thursday I got all of my packages so my phone is up and running perfectly. That night I was going on exchanges with Elder Spalding. Not going to lie, I got a bit impatient and I thought it would make the night more entertaining, so we opened my birthday package and I absolutely loved all the goods that were inside.
Exchanges was a lot of fun as usual. I got to go to the Spanish area again. The day was pretty typical except I was wearing my new gear and riding around on a bike. The work itself was pretty slow that day but no worries it happens and to lift our spirits we decided to get some frozen yogurt to end the night.
Then on Thursday night it turned out that the carbon monoxide detector in Elder Slavens and Elder Ortiz's apartment went off so they ended up spending the next two days at our apartment. It was weird having 4 Elders in the apartment again, but it made me appreciate how easy it is to keep the apartment clean when it is just 2 of us because they made a massive mess in our kitchen.
On Sunday we had the opportunity to teach the 11 year old kids in Primary. The lesson was on Moses delivering the children of Israel. So the lesson itself was interesting, but the best part was watching Elder Burnett get sassed by 11 year old kids for an hour. It was hilarious to me. Probably not the best way to support you companion though.
Well I hope everyone had an awesome week. I'm so grateful for everyone and the support they give me. Thanks for all the birthday wishes as well, I really appreciate. It's nice having in on a p-day also.
