We had a really good week this week. We had success finding. We were able to achieve the goal we set and go beyond it as well. This week also has been full of all kinds of emotions. Happiness, sadness, excitement, anxiety, you name it we experienced it this week
It started when we found a new person to teach on Monday night. He explained to us his life story and he has gone through a lot. And I mean a LOT. Obviously, I can't say it here, but man it's rough
Then we had Thanksgiving with the Tausinga family and they put a Pacific twist on everything. I'm talking shrimp in the stuffing, pineapple on the ham and things like that. They also got some amazing pies from Marie Callender's.
We got to do the Book of Mormon experiment this week. We did it with the entire district on the California State University Dominguez Hills campus and we saw a lot of success, which was awesome!
Our district council last week was great, and the district put up some amazing numbers. I was really happy with them.
On Sunday, one of our new friends, Raymond came to church with us. And Raymond came from one of those churches where they talk and shout praises while someone preaches or says or prayer or does anything spiritual. Now with that being said, I gave a talk in the Lawndale ward yesterday and Raymond tried to stay quiet, but he couldn't hold it in apparently cause he started saying/shouting "He preachin!" "Yes, Lord!" "That's a good quote!" and even during the closing prayer, he was shouting.
Then, to finish off the week, we went back over to the Mckinzies as we do each Sunday. Rather than following up with MMTC we instead had an FHE with them and the recent converts in the ward. It was an amazing night. It was fun to sit there and take a step back and see just how amazing that moment was. Everyone laughing, joking and genuinely enjoying each other's company. The Mckinzie family does this thing called check-in. They ask how everyone is doing and see if they have any problems or things they are struggling with. Brother and Sister Mckinzie shared some really nice words with us and nearly made me cry. They also said they will remember Elder Mora and me for a long time. I've said it a bunch, but I will say it again. I love the Mckinzie family
