Email: August 19, 2019 - : "Who has the best sparkling water game in the ward?"

This was a funny question one of our members posed to us as we were having dinner with him. It came about because Elder Bastian mentioned that a lot of people offer us sparkling water (which I strongly dislike by the way). I did however get introduced to peppermint water (it's normal flat water with the taste of peppermint and it is awesome).

I also have a funny story from this week for you all. On Tuesday we had dinner at 8pm due to some mix ups and us needing to cover a lesson for our zone leaders. We went to a Thai restaurant and I thought I would go on the healthier side and get a salmon salad (I have fallen in love with Salmon recently). Well the dressing put on the salad was pretty spicy and my mouth was on fire so naturally I was drinking some ice water to help me out (which didn't help at all). The waitress noticed that I was chugging this water and then going back to eat this spicy salad, so she kept refilling my water. On my 4th glass of ice water I noticed that I got super cold and had started shivering. So here I am in the middle of a small Thai restaurant at 8:30pm probably looking like I'm having a seizure from how much I'm shivering (because I kept drinking water after that). All the while I feel like a dragon because my mouth is burning. It was a strange experience and I do not recommend it.

We got our transfer calls last night. Elder Bastian will be holding down the fort here in Manhattan Beach with his new trainee while I get transferred too *drumroll*............ STUDIO CITY! That's right now I get to serve in an area with even more family history (including the Johnsons in the home ward, I believe). That's also the ward where *drumroll*.... LINDSEY STIRLING is, so it's going to be an interesting 6 weeks as I will also be the district leader and follow up training a missionary. This may also be my grave...

Not much happened this week for Elder Bastian and I. Manhattan Beach was packed because of the sand volleyball tournament so parking was non-existent. They were still in the process of taking down the stage from the Teen Choice Awards in Hermosa and the weather was awesome, so a bunch of people were out and about. Just nobody wanted to talk to us.

We also got to help out one of the youths in our ward with his eagle scout project. It was so much fun and being able to sit down and socialize with members was a lot of fun. My love for this ward has grown so much more in the past 3 transfers and it’s sad to say goodbye again, but I am already looking forward to the chance to come back and visit Hermosa and Manhattan Beach when this is all over. A lot of good memories and a lot of good friends and they will be missed

Take it easy and enjoy the moments
