Email: October 8, 2018 - Jack, Gump, General Conference and 11 months

Hi everyone, this week was awesome!

On Tuesday we had the opportunity to give some service to none other than Jack Russell. So, for a refresher my very first dinner in my first area was with Jack Russell.

Jack Russell is a rock star from the 80s the band was named Great White and they were pretty famous. Some tragic things have happened throughout Jack's life which caused a lot of problems. He joined the church a little over a year ago and his current band is called Jack Russell's Great White.

Anyway, we had the chance to help him move some boxes around while we listened to some of his music that he has made. Not gonna lie, it was really good, not my kind of music, however. Jack was so grateful that we helped out that he offered to talk to President Galorath (One of President Haynie's councilors that is really good friends with Jack) and convince President Galorath to let us go out on Jack's boat for a P-day. He is positive he can talk him into it, so we will see

Also, as we were going through and sorting Jack's things we came across some VHS tapes. One of the happened to be Forest Gump. Everyone got talking about it and I mentioned how I have never seen it. Well that shocked Jack and he gave me the VHS and told me to watch it by the end of the week

We also had the wonderful opportunity to watch general conference this week. There were so many wonderful messages given. So, if you haven't seen it yet, I would ask you all to go and watch it. It was definitely an inspired conference.

I really like Elder Holland's and Elder Anderson's talks. It really put into perspective our actions. Are our actions hurting our family and friends? I also love how personal the atonement is. The Savior knows what spiritual, emotional or physical injuries we have, and he knows which tools to use to heal us perfectly, without any scars. At times we may think he is using the wrong tool, but he is the perfect doctor. He helped create us, he lived, died and rose again for us. Everything he does it out of selfless love so that we might join him in eternal happiness.

Sorry this email is really short nothing really happened this week. But feel free to email me!
