FWell everyone the time has come, and transfers are here once again. I am staying in the Lawndale area and will continue to be the district leader. But, to spice things up, I'm going to be training this time around, which means Elder Laybourn is getting transferred away.

Now, I don't know who I'm training because they are currently either in the MTC right now or waiting in the airport to get on a plane. So, I will be finding out who I will be training when they arrive tomorrow. Seems like just yesterday I was in their place waiting at the travel office.

Monday: Didn't do much for P-day today just spent the day doing chores.

Tuesday: Tuesday was about the same, gave our weekly service at house of Yahweh and had our appointment with a less active. Other than that, not much

Wednesday: Also, a slow day. I don't really remember what happened.

Thursday: Today was typical with weekly planning. I was on exchanges with Elder Seipel who is from Payson Utah. Funny story. So Elder Seipel and I met months ago when he got mid cycled into the LA YSA while I was in Adams, so I saw him every now and then. Well Elder Seipel thought he knew me from somewhere. Over time he just chalked it up to me looking like one of his friends. Well that night we were talking about our lives and how we ended up to this point, dating and everything. Well I mentioned I started a job at HuHot and he almost instantly started freaking out. He finally found his missing puzzle piece. He used to go to the HuHot in Spanish Fork all the time and I cooked his food for him. Now I never remembered seeing him, but I saw a lot of faces when I worked there.

Friday: Exchanges were absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful time having fun yet working hard. I had the opportunity to conduct my first baptismal interview with one of the candidates they had. He passed without a sweat and he is on track to be baptized next week.

Saturday: Saturday was a very busy day. In the morning we had two service opportunities. The first was helping some members in the ward break down their old playground so we got to smash some wood.  But even better, were the breakfast burritos they gave us after.

The second opportunity was actually outside our zone, but we received permission to go with some of the Spanish Elders. We joined the south bay YMCA in cleaning out a marsh in Torrance. It was fairly easy work, but it was pretty hot that day. We also met some members from the Lakewood YSA and they were hilarious.  This makes me excited to attend the YSA when I get back.

After service I had the opportunity to conduct another baptismal interview. This candidate has been working with the missionaries for a while but never felt like he was ready. His baptism date was still over a month away and he was completely finished with his lessons, He was excited to be baptized but felt his date was too soon. Well we talked a bit and we were able to boost his confidence. So rather than having his baptism be over a month away he moved it to the next weekend!

What a way to end the transfer. Today we had our combined activity with Spanish ward. The activity was a multicultural night so there were many different kinds of food and dance performances. It went for about 5 hours, but it was a giant party. We had a bunch of fun with the Spanish missionaries which was nice because I don't know them very well.

Sunday: Church was wonderful we were able to get really involved in the ward and the bishop is being super supportive of missionary work and having us train the ward council when we have our ward council meetings.

After church we continued Mary's new member lessons and are continuing to teach her kids and keep them on track for late October.

Right after that, a member asked us to come by her home to give a blessing to some non-members who were staying there. Ashely, (the non-member) just gave birth to her daughter Olivia so we gave them blessings to help them both recover. There were such a nice little family and they had us take a picture with them and they sent it to our parents.

I hope everyone back home is safe from the fires. If someone could send me daily updates on that I would greatly appreciate. Elder Seipel and I talked about it a lot on exchanges and it almost seems surreal that this is happening and it's hard to not be able to do anything to help other than fast and pray. I love you all and stay safe!
