Email: September 30, 2019 - The fruits of missionary work

This week was super awesome, and I will explain why here in a second, but it has to do with the title for this week.

But I'll start with the juicy stuff that everyone wants to know about. We got transfers and I will be staying and finishing my mission here in Studio City/North Hollywood however to throw some icing on the cake, I will be training a new missionary last transfer It'll be nice to have that new missionary fire to carry me a bit at the end but at the same time I kind of feel bad.

Once again Elder Kim and I had another very busy week. We found ourselves going back and forth from the temple and mission office a couple times this week. As well, we had meeting with ward leadership, appointments, come follow me lessons, and all the fun stuff really

I was feeling the spirit a lot this weekend which was really nice especially since I was feeling a lot of joy and it all started on Saturday

Saturday was a really special day for my mission but even more special for the Akashis

For those of you who remember Masaru Akashi was the first baptism of my mission and on Saturday he and Sister Akashi were endowed and sealed in the temple. I'm grateful for the opportunity that I had to enter the temple with them and watch these ordinances be performed.

Something that also opened my eyes was how big of a reach missionary work has. Not only did all of this extend into the eternities but because of Brother Akashi's decision to be baptized, they were able to seal their family together, 5 generations were also able to be sealed. It shows how big of a ripple effect our decisions have.

That brings me to talking about progression. I realized something this week. We all know it is our goal to become like Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, but we are not capable of becoming like them in this life. That's why we have eternity to get to that point. I've realized that the best version of ourselves that we can become in this life is found within our patriarchal blessing.

It doesn’t say we specifically how to become like our patriarchal person, but it gives us highlights and check points, and it leaves it open ended so we can use our agency and decide who we really want to be come.

That's all for me this week. I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Take it easy and enjoy the moments
